After 3 years of infertility...I'm Pregnant!

Wow, I really was getting to the point where seeing two lines on a pregnancy test felt too good to be true.

I was always hopeful, and never doubted that my God would give us our child at the perfect time, but when I saw those two lines on new year's day, I was in SHOCK.

If you're not familiar with my fertility journey, here's the spark notes:

We started trying for a baby in November 2022

In December 2023, I went to a women's health clinic, and was put on progesterone to regulate my cycles.

After a year of being on progesterone, I was referred to a specialist fertility clinic where I was put on letrozole, which was supposed to trick my body into making more progesterone

In October 2024, I started timed cycles, where I would get an ultrasound every month and try to time conception with the measurements of my follicles on the screen

May of 2024, I had a chemical pregnancy.

I also got an HSG test to make sure my fallopian tubes were clear, and my husband was tested, all clear.

I was diagnosed with unexplained infertility.

In February 2025, I had my first IUI...failed

Second IUI in March...failed

Three more timed cycles, and then my fertility clinic decided to boost their prices by 100%+

March 2025 I started seeing a naturopath, who pointed out that my blood sugar regulation and my metabolic support was probably lacking

For the rest of the year, I was actively trying to get pregnant, while intentionally focusing on my blood sugar regulation and metabolic support, and I could feel my body healing.

In July, I went back to my women's health doctor who prescribed Clomid, which stimulates the follicles to drop more eggs, essentially so there are more targets. He said I could only be on the medication for 6 months, as after 6 months your uterine lining starts to thin and it's not good for you.

December, my last month of clomid, was the month we finally conceived.

We found out New Years Day which was such a whirlwind, and I'm so excited to finally share this story with you all!

God is so good, all the time, no matter what.

How does PKU come into this?

Well if you're reading this, you know that PKU plays a big role in pregnancy. Your levels have to be perfect in order for your baby to develop properly.

Throughout my pregnancy, I'll be documenting my Maternal PKU journey, in an effort to encourage those with PKU that may be trying to get pregnant, or hope to have a baby of their own one day too <3
